La Ronde

The culmination of a timeless week in Montreal. After wandering through the historic and industrial districts late at night during a gentle snowfall, I made my way over to Parc Jean-Drapeau with no expectations. Overcast skies saturated with a thick hue of pink was the canvass from which the island’s amusement park, La Ronde, appeared as an epic series of twisting metal structures. The solitude was dystopian. While passing by, I noticed that one of the gates was only loosely chained closed; despite knowing that my footprints would be left all over the park, I couln’t pass up such a rare opportunity and decided to give it a go anyway. After a couple hours of climbing and shooting on various rollercoasters, I was forced to sneak out when I spotted security on the move. This will forever be one of the most magical and rewarding nights of exploring to date.
